Julia Watkins

Julia Watkins has become well-known backstage and learned about show business at a very young age through her parents. Her mother is from the Caribbean and her father comes from Miami. As internationally successful ballet dancers, her parents spent a lot of time on the world's largest stages. Her mother danced around the world for Walt Disney with trips to New York, London and Paris a regular occurrence. As a result of her parents’ career, Julia was exposed to the world at a young age and got a glimpse behind the scenes early on. She would accompany her parents to shows at a young age and was instantly fascinated by the make-up artists. Her dream job was always to work behind the scenes as a make-up artist.

In order to achieve her dream, Julia placed great value on top-quality training. After completing her studies as a beautician and senior hairstylist, she moved to Frankfurt to attend one of the most renowned make-up schools in Germany. She completed her training as a professional hair and make-up artist at the Famous Face Academy. Immediately after her training, she began assisting backstage at the Berlin Fashion Week and renowned designer shows to learn from the professionals. Her talent was recognised right away and she soon got an opportunity to work at fashion shows in New York.

Today, Julia has realised her dream and works as head of make-up at numerous fashion shows in Berlin. She forms part of the backstage team at international fashion shows for names such as Rebecca Minkoff, Jason Wu and Hugo Boss. VIPs such as Nicole Scherzinger are among her trusted clients. Her references include not only well-known designers and VIPs, but also international brands such as Maybelline New York, Yves Saint Laurent and Sony Music. She has been involved in many commercials, music videos and campaign shoots. As head artist, she also created the looks for ‘Switerland’s Next Topmodel’ and ‘Germany’s Next Topmodel’.

She loves meeting new people and artists and being inspired every day.
